Updating the Firmware

Firmware updates are delivered over Wi-Fi directly through the device web interface. No cables or apps are needed.

What You Need

  • A signed firmware update file (.bin) which you can find under Downloads->VESC2X3Bridge->Firmware Update
  • A phone or computer with Wi-Fi
  • VESC2X3Bridge in Webconfig Check here how to enter the Config Mode

Only use firmware update files that are correctly signed (if using the official firmware). The device will reject any file that is not correctly prepared.

Uploading the Firmware

  1. At the top of the web interface, locate the update area.
  2. Click Choose File and select the .bin file.
  3. Click Upload Firmware.
  4. Wait for upload and verification to complete. Do not close the browser or power off the device during this step.
  5. The website will report whether the update finished successfully or failed.
  6. The device reboots automatically once the update is applied.

After the Update

  • The device reboots into the new firmware.
  • All saved settings (hardware variant, BMS mode, profile options, etc.) are preserved.
  • Verify normal operation by checking the dashboard and lights.

Update Failed

If upload is rejected or the device reboots back to the previous version:

  • Make sure you are using the correct firmware file. Do not modify the file.
  • Try a different browser.
  • If the device is unresponsive after a failed update, power-cycle it. It will recover to the last working firmware automatically.
